Asus launches the new Zenbook A14 with a clear proposition: to be a lightweight, powerful, and well-designed ultrabook, aiming to compete directly with the MacBook Air M3.

Reliable Design, Performance, and Battery Life

The design maintains Asus's classic style: aluminum body, comfortable keyboard, large trackpad, and a weight around 1.2 kg.

Inside, the A14 comes with Snapdragon X or Snapdragon X Elite processors, allowing for fanless operation and impressive energy efficiency. Both processors offer good performance for editing or development tasks and feature integrated NPU for AI.

It has options with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

OLED Display and Immersive Sound

The main attraction is its 2.8K OLED display at 120 Hz, offering deep blacks, vibrant colors, and excellent brightness even outdoors. Furthermore, the 120 Hz refresh rate significantly enhances visual fluidity.

In terms of audio, the Harman Kardon speakers deliver clean and powerful sound for their size.

The battery lasts up to 32 hours of video playback, more than 28 hours of streaming, or 19 hours of web browsing, all with a 70 Wh battery. It even surpasses the MacBook Air in this aspect, something unexpected in the Windows world.

Optimized Windows and Good Connectivity

Thanks to the new version of Windows 11 for ARM, app compatibility is much improved. The system boots up quickly, responds well, and maintains fluidity even with several tasks open.

Is it Better than the MacBook Air?

It depends. If you're into macOS and are part of the Apple ecosystem, the MacBook Air M3 is still a great option. But if you're looking for more autonomy, a better OLED display, and an increasingly refined Windows environment, the Zenbook A14 becomes a very serious alternative, and in several aspects, superior.

What's New?

The Zenbook A14 is not just a minor update. Key new features include:

  • 2.8K OLED display at 120 Hz, ideal for creators and professionals.

  • Snapdragon X with integrated NPU, ideal for AI tasks.

  • Up to 32 hours of battery, according to Asus.

  • Optimized Windows on ARM and fanless design.

  • Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for next-generation connectivity.

  • EPEAT Gold and Energy Star certification, focused on sustainability.

  • Ports: 2x USB-C 4.0, 1x USB-A 3.2, HDMI 2.1, and 3.5mm audio jack

In Summary

The Zenbook A14 is one of the most promising ultrabooks of 2025: It positions itself as a compelling alternative to the MacBook Air, combining a lightweight design, OLED display, silent performance, and extraordinary autonomy of up to 32 hours.
