Google Pixel Watch 4: Power, Health, and Gemini on Your Wrist
Index
Google has introduced its new generation of smartwatches, and the Pixel Watch 4 is undoubtedly the most ambitious yet. It's not just about aesthetic refinement but a combination that mixes premium design, more advanced health features, and full integration with Gemini.

Design and Display
The most noticeable change is in the display: Google calls it “Actua 360,” and it's essentially a domed panel with more usable surface and thinner bezels. It reaches up to 3,000 nits of brightness, making it one of the most readable watches under sunlight. The body is constructed with recycled aluminum, protected with Gorilla Glass 5, and ready to be submerged up to 50 meters.
Performance and Battery
The new Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 processor makes everything feel snappier and more power-efficient. It also features:
- 30-hour battery for the 41 mm model and up to 40 hours for the 45 mm model, with power-saving mode potentially extending to 48 and 72 hours depending on the model.
- Power-saving mode that extends autonomy to 2 or 3 days.
- Ultra-fast charging: 50% in just 15 minutes.
Health and Fitness
Advanced features like pulse loss detection, ECG, stress monitoring, and blood oxygen level monitoring.
Highlighted innovations:
- Surface temperature sensor for comparisons with your baseline.
- Dual-frequency GPS for increased precision.
- Real-time cycling stats and more than 50 new exercise modes, including sports like basketball and pickleball.
Connectivity and AI
Google has given a starring role to Gemini, its AI assistant. Now you can raise your wrist and speak directly to get answers, health tips, or quick directions. The experience feels much more natural and helpful day to day. Additionally, it features emergency satellite communication without needing a phone.
Repairability and Sustainability
Both the screen and battery can be replaced without losing water resistance, setting it apart from other premium smartwatches.
Availability and Pricing
The Pixel Watch 4 was launched on August 20 and will be officially available on October 9.
Starting prices:
- 41 mm: from 349 dollars.
- 45 mm: from 399 dollars, with LTE versions about 100 more.
Is the Upgrade Worth It?
If you have a first or second-generation Pixel Watch, the improvement is clear: brighter display, greater autonomy, more comprehensive health features, and, above all, satellite communication. On the other hand, if you're upgrading from the Watch 3, the decision depends more on how much Gemini's AI and repairability tempt you.
In any case, the Pixel Watch 4 solidifies Google's aim: a watch that not only competes with the Apple Watch but becomes the heart of its ecosystem.
