About us

Silikode is an independent technology publication, created to share and help anyone who wants to understand technology better, with clear and honest information. We publish in Spanish and English, to reach anyone wherever they are.

What we do

We cover technology with a practical and rigorous approach:

  • Reviews — product analysis with their strengths and weaknesses, scored on a clear scale.
  • Guides — step-by-step explanations.
  • News — what matters in tech.
  • Comparisons — to choose better between the options.
  • Setups — workspaces from the community, as inspiration.

How we work

Our coverage is independent: we decide what to cover and what to say with editorial judgment, and we keep that line separate from the commercial side.

We explain this in detail in our Editorial Policy and our Affiliate Disclosure.

The community

Silikode is not only what we publish: it's also what its community builds. With an account you can comment, save articles, follow your favorite brands, set price alerts, and share your own setup to inspire others. We moderate comments to keep a healthy, respectful space.

Who's behind it

Silikode was born on December 2, 2025, but the story starts much earlier. Behind Silikode is Alexis Paez.

My interest in technology goes back to childhood: spending hours taking PCs apart and putting them back together just for fun. Over the years, that interest became a craft: I sold tech products, assembled hardware, and today I'm an official Apple technician.

That's what, to me, gives Silikode its meaning: I don't talk about technology from the outside — I live with it every day. That first-hand experience is what I try to bring to every review, guide and comparison.

At its core, Silikode is the crossroads of the two things I'm obsessed with: understanding technology deeply and sharing it.

The name and the logo

Silikode is the fusion of the two sides of technology: hardware and software. Sili, for silicon —the heart of every chip, as it is for Silicon Valley—; Kode, for code, written with a "k" for character. Silicon and code: the two halves of technology in a single word.

The logo tells the same story, drawn. The S is a piece of freshly cut silicon: the two diagonal cuts are the mark of the saw, the exact moment a chip breaks off from the wafer and comes to life. And its stroke is a single line that never breaks —it comes in at the top, runs its course, and leaves at the bottom—: one path from start to finish, like code.
