Community Guidelines

Last updated: 21 June 2026

Comments are an important part of Silikode: we want them to be a healthy, useful and respectful space where the community can debate, share experiences and learn. These guidelines explain what we expect from you when you take part and how we moderate to keep that space the way it should be.

What we expect from you

  • Respect. Treat others the way you'd like to be treated, even when you disagree with them.
  • Constructive contributions. Add facts, experiences or questions that enrich the conversation.
  • Stay on topic. Try to keep your comment relevant to the article or to the thread you're replying to.

You can disagree and debate with conviction: what we ask is that you do it in good faith and without running over other people.

What is not allowed

The following are not allowed in the comments:

  • Spam or self-promotion. Repetitive messages, unsolicited advertising or links to promote your own products, services or accounts.
  • Personal attacks and insults. Disparaging, attacking or mocking other people.
  • Hate speech or discrimination. Based on origin, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability or any other condition.
  • Harassment. Hounding, stalking or intimidating another person within or through the comments.
  • Illegal content or content that infringes the rights of others. Including material that violates copyright or intellectual property rights.
  • Posting other people's personal data. Without their consent (what's known as doxxing).
  • Using multiple accounts to evade moderation. Creating new accounts to dodge a sanction or to manipulate votes.
  • Harmful misinformation. Spreading false information that could cause harm.

How we moderate

To look after this space we combine automated systems with review by our team:

  • When you post a comment, it is analyzed automatically. If the system flags it, it stays pending review until someone on the team approves or rejects it.
  • You can report a comment you believe breaks these guidelines. If a comment receives several reports, it automatically goes to review.
  • Each comment can be published, pending review or rejected. People with admin or moderation roles review these cases.

Consequences

We may edit or remove comments that break these guidelines, and suspend accounts that do so repeatedly or seriously. We aim for moderation to be proportionate, but we always prioritize the safety and health of the community.

An honest note

Comments are a space we offer and that we actively moderate. They are not a zone of absolute free speech: the final decision about what gets published, edited or removed is ours. We say this plainly so you know where you stand when you take part.

Terms and contact

By commenting you also accept our Terms and Conditions. If you have questions about these guidelines or want to report something that doesn't fit the usual flow, write to us at admin@silikode.com.
