Affiliate Disclosure

Silikode is an independent technology publication. To sustain the project and keep publishing reviews, guides and news for free, we combine several funding sources: affiliate links, advertising and sponsored content or brand collaborations. This page explains, with full transparency, what that means for you.

How Silikode is funded

Silikode is sustained through three main sources: commissions on purchases that readers make at third-party stores through our affiliate links, advertising spaces, and sponsored content or reviews and collaborations requested by brands. In every case we start from the same principle: a clear separation between editorial and commercial work, which we detail in our Editorial Policy.

What affiliate links are

An affiliate link is a link that, when you click it within our content, takes you to an online store or a manufacturer's page. If you decide to buy a product there, Silikode may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you: the price you pay is exactly the same as if you had reached the store on your own.

Programs we take part in

We work with the following affiliate programs, among others:

• Amazon Associates — As an Amazon Associate, Silikode earns from qualifying purchases.
• Mercado Libre affiliate program — Silikode may earn a commission on purchases made through our Mercado Libre links.

Depending on your location, we show you first the store that operates in your region (for example, Mercado Libre in Latin America and Amazon elsewhere). The goal is for you to find the product at the most convenient store.

Advertising and sponsored content

Beyond affiliate links, Silikode may show advertising within the site and publish sponsored content or reviews and collaborations requested by brands.

Whenever a piece is sponsored or comes from a paid collaboration, we always label it clearly, for example with a "Sponsored" tag on the article. We want you to know at all times when you are reading editorial work and when you are reading a commercial collaboration.

Separation between editorial and commercial work

We keep a separation between editorial and commercial work: our funding sources —affiliates, advertising or sponsorships— do not take part in our reviews or our scores. Deciding which products we cover and what we think of them is an editorial decision, which we detail in our Editorial Policy.

• The existence of a commission, advertising or a sponsorship does not change a review's score, its pros and cons, or its conclusions.
• A negative review can coexist with an affiliate link or a collaboration: if a product doesn't convince us, we say so.

Prices and availability

The prices, deals and stock availability shown on Silikode are captured at the time an article is published or updated and may change at any time at the destination store. Silikode does not control or guarantee final prices: the valid price is always the one shown at the store at the time of your purchase. The same applies to price alerts: they are an informational aid and do not constitute an offer.

Relationship with stores and manufacturers

Any relationship, contractual or otherwise, that you enter into with an advertiser, affiliate or store when you click one of our links is understood to be solely between you and that third party. Silikode acts only as an advertising medium: it is not a party to the transaction and is not responsible for delivery, warranty, after-sales support, or the purchase conditions of the destination store. Any cookies that those stores or affiliate networks may set when you click are governed by each one's privacy policy.

How we label content

In addition to this page, we display a transparency notice at the bottom of each applicable article. We use clear labels to indicate our relationship with the product being reviewed:

• Purchased — bought by the author; no brand influenced the review.
• Review unit — temporarily provided by the brand, with no editorial control on their part.
• Sponsored — paid content, clearly identified; opinions remain our own.
• Affiliate — the content includes affiliate links.
• Informational — based on official specifications, with no physical access to the product.
