Apple Watch Series 11: What to Expect at the September 9 Event

We are just days away from Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event, scheduled for Tuesday, September 9 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, and the Apple Watch Series 11 is expected to be one of the headline announcements. The leaks have the tech world excited: there will be internal upgrades, advanced health features, and greater efficiency, although with a familiar, evolutionary design.

Series 11: evolution more than revolution

The Apple Watch Series 11 will keep the design of previous models, with 42 mm and 46 mm options, but with meaningful improvements. Rumors point to a brighter and more efficient display, along with a refreshed lineup of colors and bands (including the farewell to jet black, for example).

Inside, the new S11 chip, with an architecture similar to that of the Series 9 and 10, includes a four-core Neural Engine, 64 GB of storage, and second-generation Ultra Wideband. A major performance leap is not expected, but greater efficiency and headroom for internal improvements are.

Apple is rumored to call it the S11 chip, although there are some doubts about that.

The term “S11” is strongly associated in the United States and much of the world with the September 11, 2001 attacks. Considering Apple is a U.S. company, it would not be surprising if it chose a different name for this chip.

Next-level health and connectivity

The big bet for the Series 11 is its ability to detect hypertension and other health indicators. While it will not be as accurate as a clinical blood pressure monitor, it will provide early alerts. Connectivity optimizations are also expected: it could include 5G and perhaps satellite connectivity, although the latter may be reserved for the Ultra 3.

It will arrive with watchOS 26, packed with AI-powered features such as Workout Buddy, live translation, and new intelligent interfaces.
