Gran Turismo DualSense: design, price, and release

Sony introduced the Gran Turismo DualSense, a limited edition that brings racing stripes, emblems, and motorsport aesthetics to the PS5 controller. It will cost US$84.99 and arrive on December 10, 2026, with pre-orders starting October 22. The celebration comes ahead of the anniversary: according to the official Gran Turismo announcement, the franchise will turn 30 in 2027.

The Gran Turismo DualSense design and its nods to GT4

The white base contrasts with two black stripes across the touchpad and a carbon-fiber-style textured center section. Sony describes that finish for its appearance; it does not present it as a shell made from carbon fiber. The number 30, logos, and racing graphics complete the tribute, while the back features the anniversary emblem.

There is a more specific reference for those who know the series. GTPlanet ties the design to the Ford GT from Gran Turismo 4: the stripes, the Gran Turismo Association crest, and the “The Drive of Your Life” inscription all point back to that era. The touchpad even incorporates graphics that evoke hood latches. That interpretation gives it more personality than a color change paired with a logo.

As part of the DualSense family, it offers haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in compatible games. Its appeal as a commemorative edition lies in how it brings Gran Turismo’s identity to an object used in every play session.

Price, pre-orders, and release date

PlayStation confirmed recommended prices of US$84.99, €84.99, and £74.99. Pre-orders will open on October 22, 2026, at 10:00 in each market; in the United States, at 10:00 ET. It will be sold through PlayStation Direct where available and participating retailers, in limited quantities. The global launch will begin on December 10, 2026, and final prices may vary by store.

For a GT4 fan or a collector, the references are prominent enough to justify the interest. If you’re looking for a second controller to play with, the choice comes down to how much you value that design: the tribute is enjoyable even before turning on the console.
