Prism Collection for PS5: transparent DualSense and console covers

Prism Collection with three controllers and PS5 console covers

Sony introduced the Prism Collection for PS5 on October 28, 2026, bringing transparent DualSense wireless controllers and console covers in Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray. Controllers have a recommended price of US$84.99, while console covers cost US$74.99. They are sold separately.

Preorders begin on November 10, 2026, with the collection launching from February 4, 2027, depending on the market. The finish is the main change: Sony revisits the transparent aesthetic of the late 1990s to reveal some of the hardware inside.

Flare Orange: the boldest finish

Flare Orange, called naranja intenso in the Latin American announcement, is the collection's brightest option. According to the design team, overlapping transparent material takes on a rosy hue. That helps explain why the images range between orange, red, and pink.

The central panel and sticks follow the overall color, but their textures contrast with the glossy shell. This is the version for someone who wants the controller to stand out even when it is away from the console.

Emerald Green: depth and contrast

Emerald Green combines a dark tone with brighter highlights along the edges. Transparency adds depth: the color's appearance varies with the lighting and components behind it, without Sony describing it as an iridescent finish.

The front and back follow the same monochromatic approach. It offers a middle ground for anyone seeking a shell that looks clearly different from the original white design, with less visual emphasis than orange.

Graphite Gray: the understated option

Graphite Gray uses a cool gray that takes on bluish tones in the official images. Internal components remain visible, but the overall effect is more restrained than the other two versions.

It could fit more naturally on a dark desk or alongside black peripherals. Its appeal lies in the close-up details: it retains the transparent aesthetic without making the controller's color the focal point of the gaming space.

The Prism Collection's transparent design

PlayStation's Latin American announcement explains that the design team wanted to combine that reference with PS5's industrial design. The glossy finish extends across the back of the DualSense controller, while the metallic middle cover contrasts with the translucent areas.

The close-ups show how buttons, the touch pad, and internal structures become part of the composition. Transparency varies with the color and overlapping material, so different surfaces reveal the interior with different levels of clarity.

Prism is a collection of DualSense designs. The announcement introduces no battery-life improvements, new sticks, or additional features. The official controller page continues to list haptic feedback and adaptive triggers as features of the family, available in compatible games.

PS5 console covers: check the model before buying

The console covers extend all three finishes to PS5, but buying a Prism DualSense does not include matching plates. Nor should buyers assume that every PS5 cover fits every version of the console.

PlayStation's support guide distinguishes CFI-1000 and CFI-2000/7000 model groups when explaining cover replacement. That grouping describes the procedure; it does not establish that one cover fits every model in those groups. Before preordering Prism covers, check the supported CFI model number in the specific product listing, especially if you own a PS5 Pro.

Prices, preorders, and launch

The international announcement sets the following recommended prices for the United States. These are reference prices rather than final prices for Argentina; retailer pricing and availability may vary.

AccessoryRecommended US priceColors
Prism DualSense controllerUS$84.99All three
Prism PS5 console coversUS$74.99All three

Preorders open on November 10, 2026, at 10am in each participating market; in the United States, that is 10am ET. Launch begins on February 4, 2027. Console covers will be sold directly by PlayStation where that channel operates, with limited quantities through selected retailers in other regions.

When choosing Prism makes sense

The Gran Turismo DualSense was also announced at US$84.99, but its appeal comes from references to a franchise. Prism takes a different approach: revealing the interior and coordinating the controller with the console.

If you need a second controller, the choice comes down to your preferred finish and the available price. If your DualSense works well, Prism is a customization purchase. For matching console covers, compatibility comes first: color follows your taste; fit follows the model.
