Asus is launching the new Zenbook A14 with a clear goal: to be a lightweight, powerful, well-designed ultrabook built to compete directly with the MacBook Air M3.

Design, performance, and reliable battery life

The design keeps Asus’s classic style: an aluminum body, comfortable keyboard, large trackpad, and a weight of around 1.2 kg.

Inside, the A14 comes with Snapdragon X or Snapdragon X Elite processors, enabling fanless operation and surprisingly strong energy efficiency. Both deliver solid performance for editing or development tasks and include an integrated NPU for AI.

It offers configurations with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

OLED display and immersive sound

What stands out most is its 2.8K OLED display at 120 Hz, which delivers deep blacks, vibrant colors, and excellent brightness even outdoors. The 120 Hz refresh rate also noticeably improves visual fluidity.

As for audio, the Harman Kardon speakers produce clean, powerful sound for their size.

The battery lasts up to 32 hours of video playback, more than 28 hours of streaming, or 19 hours of web browsing, all with a 70 Wh battery. It even surpasses the MacBook Air in this area, something few expected in the Windows world.

Optimized Windows and strong connectivity

Thanks to the new version of Windows 11 for ARM, app compatibility is much more polished. The system boots quickly, responds well, and stays smooth even with several tasks open.

Is it better than the MacBook Air?

It depends. If macOS is your thing and you are already in the Apple ecosystem, the MacBook Air M3 is still a great option. But if you want longer battery life, a better OLED display, and an increasingly polished Windows environment, the Zenbook A14 becomes a very serious alternative—and in several areas, a superior one.

What’s new?

The Zenbook A14 is not just a minor update. Its most important new features include:

  • 2.8K OLED display at 120 Hz, ideal for creators and professionals.

  • Snapdragon X with integrated NPU, ideal for AI tasks.

  • Up to 32 hours of battery life, according to Asus.

  • Optimized, fanless Windows on ARM.

  • Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for next-generation connectivity.

  • EPEAT Gold and Energy Star certification, with a focus on sustainability.

  • Ports: 2x USB-C 4.0, 1x USB-A 3.2, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Bottom line

The Zenbook A14 is one of the most promising ultrabooks of 2025. It positions itself as a compelling alternative to the MacBook Air, combining a lightweight design, OLED display, silent performance, and extraordinary battery life of up to 32 hours.
