Apple Welcome Home 2026: everything it announced, with prices and dates

Apple HomeView, HomePod mini 2, and Apple TV 4K at Welcome Home

Apple unveiled its biggest push into the connected home on October 13, 2026: HomeView, HomePod mini 2, a new Apple TV 4K, and accessories developed with LG and Schneider Electric. The bigger story is not a standalone product, but the system they create together.

The strategy depends on Siri AI and requires a close look at its conditions: several personal features require a compatible iPhone or iPad, HomeView will not initially launch in the European Union, and some accessories have limited regional availability.

What Apple announced at Welcome Home 2026

The four pillars are HomeView, HomePod mini 2, Apple TV 4K, and Apple Home Collection. They all connect through Home, share automations, and use Siri AI as the interface.

HomeView provides the display; HomePod mini 2, voice and audio; Apple TV 4K, entertainment; and Home Collection, cameras, access, and climate control. WIRED considers it Apple’s biggest home relaunch in years.

The rollout will not happen all at once. HomePod mini 2 arrives first; HomeView and Apple TV follow in November, while Home Collection expands between December 2026 and early 2027. The full proposition will take several months to become available.

HomeView is the center of the system

HomeView combines a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, A18, a 12 MP camera, and facial recognition for six people. It personalizes messages, calendar, and reminders, while keeping music, albums, and home controls shared.

Siri AI answers queries and, with a compatible device, uses context from Messages and Calendar. It is the direction of Siri AI features brought to a shared display.

Both versions cost US$299. The tabletop model integrates a woofer; Wall Mounted uses two transducers tuned for wall placement. The official announcement sets availability for November 13 in eight markets, excluding the European Union.

HomeView Wall Mounted requires installation planning

Wall Mounted is a distinct model and needs a separately sold powered mount. That changes the real cost and the most practical placement.

The USB-C mount costs US$59.95; the AC version, US$79.95; and the PoE model will arrive in 2027 for US$129.95. The functional minimum is US$358.95 before installation.

HomePod mini 2 gets more expensive and gains features

HomePod mini 2 moves to the S10 and adds computational audio, 360-degree sound, stereo pairs, and multiroom audio. It also works as a speaker for a Mac with Wi-Fi 6E or later.

Sound Glow adapts the top light to the album art or the room’s ambience. In addition, four units can form a surround system with the new Apple TV 4K.

The combination improves its role within the system, although four HomePod mini 2 units cost US$596 before adding the Apple TV. It is not a budget alternative to a soundbar, but a modular option for people who also want independent speakers in each room.

The official press release sets the price at US$149 and availability for October 30. That is US$50 more than the first generation, in line with Apple’s recent price increase.

Apple TV 4K bets on Siri AI and the home

Apple TV 4K incorporates the A19, with up to 50% more CPU performance, double the GPU performance, and dedicated AV1 decoding.

Three microphones allow Siri AI to be used without the remote. The Siri Remote adds a speaker and Precision Finding, while the device retains Thread, automations, and local video processing.

The microphones can be turned off with a physical button. That detail matters in a device designed to stay connected at all times in the living room and listen for commands from a distance.

It will cost US$299 starting November 13. The Latin American press release confirms 128 GB, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and the four-HomePod system.

Apple Home Collection covers cameras, access, and climate

Apple Home Collection brings together products from LG and Schneider Electric that can be configured from the iPhone and managed in Home without separate accounts or apps.

It includes cameras, a doorbell, a lock, thermostats, and sensors priced between US$39.95 and US$399.95. The lock uses ultra wideband and Home Key; the cameras reach 2.5K and store video locally during internet outages.

The differentiating value is not just in the hardware: setup avoids third-party accounts and centralizes permissions, automations, and history inside Apple Home. In exchange, the collection is more tied to the Apple ecosystem than other conventional Matter accessories.

The official introduction places launches between December 2026 and early 2027. Video history and recognition require a compatible iCloud+ plan.

The prices are those announced for the United States. Availability varies by product and region: HomeView is excluded from the European Union in this first phase, while part of Apple Home Collection is initially limited to North America.

What Apple did not announce

Apple did not refresh the larger HomePod or launch its own cameras or locks: Home Collection keeps LG and Schneider Electric as manufacturers.

That absence reveals the strategy: a common layer of software, privacy, and setup around both Apple-made and partner hardware.

Welcome Home is a bet on the system, not a single device

HomeView defines the coverage, but its value depends on what surrounds it. In an Apple household, it can make visible a network that previously lived hidden inside the iPhone.

In a mixed home, it loses part of its advantage. For those already using Apple Home and Siri, Welcome Home offers the integration that Google is trying to rebuild around Gemini. Apple arrived late to the smart display, but with a coherent architecture.
