The Worldwide Developers Conference 2025 is getting closer, and, as it does every year, Apple is preparing for one of the most anticipated events of the year. The event begins on Monday, June 9, in an online and in-person format from Apple Park. And it promises to be one of the most important in the last decade. Between official confirmations and increasingly strong rumors, Apple seems ready to fully enter the artificial intelligence arena.

Announcements confirmed by Apple

Although Apple always saves its biggest cards for the event, there are already clear clues about what it plans to unveil.

iOS 19 and the biggest redesign since iOS 7

Apple confirmed that iOS 19 will be “one of the biggest redesigns in years,” with a more dynamic Home Screen and Lock Screen, more interactive widgets, and deep AI integration in apps such as Safari, Notes, and Mail.

Siri is set to have its moment of glory: everything suggests it will stop being the limited assistant we know today and start understanding what we say more accurately, in context, with far more useful responses.

Apple Intelligence: AI the Apple way

One of the most talked-about new features is the debut of “Apple Intelligence,” a set of capabilities that would be integrated directly into the operating system, focused on being useful, private, and secure. The idea is to compete with ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot, but with an approach centered on local privacy, without sending your data to the cloud.

Apple has already confirmed that it will discuss machine learning, language models, and new APIs for developers.

Beyond the iPhone: macOS, visionOS, watchOS…

Major updates are also expected for:

  • macOS 15: it will bring improvements to multitasking and continuity across devices.
  • watchOS 12, tvOS 19, and visionOS 2
  • Improvements to Xcode, Swift, and new APIs, along with tools designed for developers.

The strongest rumors

Although not everything is confirmed, some leaks and reliable sources are gaining traction, and it would not be surprising if they turn out to be true.

Vision Pro 2

There is talk of a second-generation Vision Pro, lighter, more comfortable, and with better battery life. The bad news? It may not launch this year.

Mac with M4 chip

Following the arrival of the M3, a new MacBook Pro or Mac Studio with an M4 chip is expected, designed especially for AI workloads and energy-efficiency improvements.

Siri, redesigned with generative AI

Perhaps the most anticipated update: a completely new Siri. This time, for real. Everything suggests it will feature generative AI, be able to hold natural conversations, and better understand context. It will also be able to work integrated with system apps, similar to how ChatGPT or Alexa operate.

Compatibility: which devices will be left out?

With so many changes on the way, some older models are expected to be left out of iOS 19. According to rumors, the iPhone X, XR, and XS could be the first to say goodbye to updates.
